HEBRON, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Israeli occupation authorities closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday until further notice.
The mosque’s director and head custodian, Mu’taz Abu Sneineh, told WAFA that the closure included all the main gates, barring all Waqf (Islamic endowment) staff.
The closure by the Israeli authorities as a response to a declared state of emergency amid the ongoing developments on the ground.
He added that the occupation forces had transformed the Old City neighborhoods, the area surrounding the Ibrahimi Mosque, and adjacent streets into military zones, intensifying the deployment of soldiers across major access points.
