BERLIN, Feb. 12 (YPA) – Germany’s highest court has rejected a lawsuit filed by a Palestinian citizen from Gaza seeking to sue the German government over arms exports to Israel.
The plaintiff, with the support of the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, was seeking to block export licenses for German spare parts used in tanks for the occupation army in Gaza.
After his lawsuit was rejected by lower courts in 2024 and 2025, he appealed to the Federal Constitutional Court. However, the court in Karlsruhe rejected the lawsuit on Thursday, stating that “the plaintiff did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that the competent courts erred in assessing or arbitrarily denied their duty to protect him.”
The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights described the decision as “a setback for civilians’ access to justice.”
