Israeli occupation’s Cabinet approves decisions to alter legal reality, bolster settlements in West Bank
OCCUPIED QUDS, Feb. 08 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation’s “Security Cabinet” approved a package of settlement-related decisions on Sunday aimed at fundamentally altering the legal and civil status in the West Bank.
Key measures include repealing the Jordanian law that prohibits land sales and declassifying land registry records to facilitate acquisitions by Zionist settlers.
The measures also involve transferring construction licensing authorities in Hebron and the Ibrahimi Mosque to the “Civil Administration,” while granting full municipal powers to settlers in the area.
In a pivotal move, the “Land Purchase Committee” was reactivated after a 20-year hiatus. Occupation government ministers described these steps as “deepening Israeli control” and imposing a new reality on the ground.
