US: Massive campaign launched to halt arms supplies to “Israel”
WASHINGTON, Feb. 04 (YPA) – A coalition of activists and human rights organizations in the United States has launched a broad grassroots campaign titled “Block the Bomb,” in a significant escalation of domestic pressure.
The movement aims to pressure Congress to cease all weapon supplies to “Israel,” following the recent congressional approval of a new $6.6 billion arms deal.
This legislative move has ignited a wave of public indignation across the United States. Opponents of the deal argue that taxpayer funds are being channeled to fuel military operations abroad—specifically those linked to atrocities in the Gaza Strip—rather than being invested in pressing domestic needs and public services at home.
To bridge the gap between public dissent and policy, the “Block the Bomb” campaign is mobilizing citizens to engage directly with their elected representatives.
This American initiative aligns with a growing global trend, as several nations, including various European countries, have already begun imposing restrictions on the transfer of military equipment to Tel Aviv.
By launching this campaign, activists seek to align U.S. policy with these international efforts to prevent the further use of foreign weaponry in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
