MARIB, Feb. 04 (YPA) – A violent explosion rocked Wadi Abida, east of Marib city, on Wednesday following a sudden airstrike targeting a gathering of suspected Al-Qaeda elements in the Arq Al-Shabwan area.
Informed sources reported that the strike, believed to be American, targeted an alternative camp for the organization within areas controlled by Islah Party factions. The sources suggested there are casualties (killed and wounded), though the exact identities of those targeted remain unclear.
This operation follows a series of recent aerial strikes, most notably the Arq Al-Shabwan area in the Al-Wadi district (a fallback site for the group since 2020), the targeting of Al-Qaeda leader “Khawlan al-San’ani’s” home in the Al-Samda area on January 25th.
