GAZA, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Hamas movement has condemned the recent Israeli military escalation across the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of more than 20 civilians, including children and a paramedic.
The movement described the attacks as a continuation of a “war of genocide” and dismissed “Israel’s” justifications as flimsy pretexts to perpetrate further crimes against the Palestinian people.
In an official statement, the movement asserted that the intensified bombardment reveals deliberate intentions by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Hinder the implementation of phase two of the ceasefire agreement, obstruct the reopening of the Rafah crossing, ensuring the continuation of the blockade, and evade the obligations of the plan to which the movement had previously committed.
The movement emphasized that “Israel’s” claims regarding an incident involving fire directed at one of its soldiers are merely excuses to execute a systematic plan aimed at imposing a permanent reality of terror in the Strip. Hamas characterized the ongoing aggression at this critical juncture as a deliberate attempt to sabotage efforts to stabilize the ceasefire.
Concluding its statement, Hamas called upon mediators and guarantor nations to uphold their responsibilities and take a firm stand against Netanyahu’s policies. The movement urged the international community to exert immediate pressure to compel the occupation to adhere to the terms of the agreement and halt its continuous violations.
