SANAA, Feb. 04 (YPA) – The United Nations announced on Wednesday the resumption of its humanitarian flights to the Yemeni capital Sanaa, after a pause exceeding one month.
Julien Harneis, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen, confirmed in a statement that the Sanaa authorities approved the return of UN Humanitarian Air Service flights for February.
He emphasized this move would be crucial for enabling NGO personnel to travel in and out of Sana’a, calling it “essential to delivering aid to millions in need” within areas controlled by the Sanaa government.
