Al-Hayya warns mediators of Israeli occupation “violations”: “Our commitment linked to halting massacres”

GAZA, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Khalil Al-Hayya, head of Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, has warned international mediators of the grave repercussions surrounding ongoing Israeli “crimes and massacres,” describing them as flagrant violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since last October.

Al-Hayya emphasized that the continued commitment to the truce is contingent upon the Israeli occupation halting its targeting of civilians, stressing that escalation undermines stability opportunities.

Hamas officially informed mediators of its categorical rejection of ongoing airstrikes launched under “flimsy justifications,” holding “Israel” responsible for the deadlock in pending files, particularly regarding personnel in Rafah.

In a parallel statement, the State of Qatar strongly condemned these violations, viewing them as a dangerous escalation aimed at “thwarting” international efforts to sustain the calm.

Saturday witnessed the most violent escalation since the start of the ceasefire’s second phase, resulting in the martyrdom of 31 Palestinians. The deadliest strike targeted the Sheikh Radwan police station, killing 15 people. According to the Ministry of Health, the casualties were distributed across the northern and southern sectors of the Strip.
