Barghouti: Gaza massacre debunks ceasefire claims and reveals Israeli occupation’s disregard for international law

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 01 (YPA) – Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, stated that the recent massacre in the Gaza Strip—which claimed the lives of 29 civilians, including 17 women and children—proves there is no genuine ceasefire in effect, except for the commitment from the Palestinian side.

In a press statement on Sunday, Barghouti affirmed that the Israeli occupation failed to adhere to any political or legal obligations and continues to disregard UN Security Council resolutions.

He noted that the absence of deterrent sanctions encourages the occupation to continue its crimes and undermines efforts for a political calm.

Barghouti called on international mediators to clearly identify the violating party and hold them accountable, rather than merely managing communications.
