Israeli occupation continues siege on Hazma for third consecutive day, launching mass raids, arrests
OCCUPIED QUDS, Jan. 29 (YPA) – For the third day in a row, Israeli occupation forces have maintained a tight siege and a total closure on the town of Hazma, northeast of occupied Quds (Jerusalem).
This ongoing military operation has paralyzed the movement of residents as all entrances and exits remain blocked, while schools have been forced to suspend classes to ensure student safety amid the heavy military presence.
The escalation has seen dozens of raids on homes and businesses, resulting in the arrest of 13 Palestinians and the field interrogation of over 100 residents, many of whom reported being subjected to beatings and abuse. During these incursions, Israeli forces seized more than 35 vehicles and motorcycles, and took over three residential homes—transforming one into a field interrogation center and others into military barracks.
The situation further deteriorated overnight as forces intensified their raids, causing extensive damage to private property and searching residents’ mobile phones. Two families reported the theft of gold jewelry and cash during the searches. Additionally, occupation authorities demolished a commercial warehouse in the town without prior notice, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing crackdown on the town’s infrastructure and its inhabitants.
