Australia cancels visa of Israeli Influencer over his controversial remarks against Islam

SYDNEY, Jan. 29 (YPA) – The Australian government has canceled the visa of an Israeli influencer who campaigns against Islam, just hours before he was scheduled to travel to the country to deliver public speeches in several major cities.

According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), authorities made the decision after monitoring Yehud’s intentions to engage in activities that included hate speech targeting Islam.

Yehud confirmed on social media that his visa was revoked only three hours before his scheduled flight to Australia.

He claimed his speeches were intended to “empower” Jewish and Christian communities and said the visa cancellation “will not silence his voice.”

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said in a statement sent to AFP on Tuesday that people who want to visit Australia should apply for the right visa and come for the right reasons.

“Spreading hatred is not a good reason to come,” he said.

Reports indicate that Yehud has previously described Islam in offensive terms, calling it a “criminal and disgusting ideology” and advocating for its ban—remarks that drew widespread criticism and led Australian authorities to revoke his visa.
