SANAA, Jan. 13 (YPA) – The Sanaa-appointed governor of Aden, Tarek Salam, warned on Tuesday that the ongoing developments in Yemen’s southern and eastern provinces would be part of external schemes orchestrated by the U.S.-, Israeli-, Saudi-, and UAE-led coalition, using local proxies to undermine Yemen’s unity and seize control over its decisions and resources under misleading slogans.
In a statement, Salam emphasized that the initiatives, conferences, and dialogues promoted by coalition states serve only to legitimize occupation and advance political and economic agendas.
He stressed that any events or meetings held abroad, particularly in coalition capitals, do not represent the people of the southern provinces nor reflect their aspirations, but rather constitute a direct attack on their national will.
The governor highlighted that the imposition of proxy figures with financial and military backing to speak for the South falsifies the true will of the people.
These tools serve occupation projects, including facilitating foreign interference, normalizing relations with the Israeli entity, he added, describing these moves are to turn the southern provinces into bases for external influence and aggression against liberated areas.
Salam underscored that the citizens of the coalition-held provinces remain innocent of the foreign interference’s tools, and that any decisions or agreements imposed by these proxies hold no legitimacy for the free Yemeni population.
He held coalition forces responsible for the resulting chaos, violations of sovereignty, and suppression of rights, reiterating that the southern issue is a legitimate national matter rooted in the policies of the former regime.
Salam noted that it couldn’t be resolved under foreign interference and tutelage, adding that solutions imposed from coalition capitals only serve as extensions of conspiracies against Yemen, its unity, and social fabric.
He affirmed that Yemenis are increasingly aware of the conflict’s true nature, recognizing that the real danger comes from foreign-managed mercenaries rather than from fellow citizens.
The governor stressed that the actions of coalition forces and their proxies demonstrate their opposition to all Yemenis, while validating the Republic of Yemen’s national stance, led by Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, the supreme leader of Ansarallah movement, against aggression since March 26, 2015.
Salam expressed confidence that Yemen, guided by its steadfast leadership and resilient people, will soon achieve liberation from occupation and its proxies, with the citizens of Aden and other provinces at the forefront of the struggle, demonstrating the nation’s unwavering refusal to bow to invaders.
