Hind Rajab files complaint against Israeli soldier in Austria

BRUSSEL, Jan. 13 (YPA) – The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint in Austria against Israeli soldier Yonatan Akriv, accusing him of committing war crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The foundation indicated that the complaint was filed after confirming Akriv’s presence on Austrian territories, which places Austria under its obligations under international law to investigate those suspected of committing serious crimes while within its jurisdiction.

According to the complaint, the foundation presented evidence of Akriv’s participation in the 8717th Alon Battalion of the Israeli army, which specialized in the systematic destruction of infrastructure and civilian homes in the Gaza Strip.
