Venezuela rejects recognition of Somaliland, supports Somali sovereignty

CARACAS, Dec. 28 (YPA) – The Venezuelan government rejected the Israeli enemy government’s recognition of Somaliland and affirmed its support for Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity.

In an official statement issued by Foreign Minister Ivan Gil on his Telegram account, Venezuela said: “In line with the position expressed by the Somali government and supported by sister countries, Venezuela categorically rejects any unilateral action aimed at recognizing separatist entities within Somali territory.”

It also called for the peaceful resolution of disputes through dialogue, mutual respect, and multilateral mechanisms.
