German journalist reveals she was raped in Israeli prison

PARLIN, Dec. 26 (YPA) – A German journalist, who was detained on the Global Sumud Flotilla ship “Conscience”, accused on Thursday the Israeli prison authorities of raping her during detention.

In her first public statement, Anna Liedtke said the assault occurred during her transfer between Israeli prisons after Israeli occupation forces intercepted the humanitarian ship bound for Gaza.

Anna Liedtke said that the attack occurred during a humiliating inspection after Israeli forces intercepted the in the fall of 2025.

“We were transferred from one prison to another, and during humiliating searches I was raped,” she added.

Liedtke had been detained for five days when the occupation forces seized the Sumud Flotilla ship, which was intended to challenge the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza. Prisoners ‘ rights groups said her testimony added to mounting evidence of systematic sexual abuse in Israeli detention centers.

According to the Turkish newspaper today, Anna Liedtke, at the international solidarity conference with political prisoners organized by the prisoners ‘ voice platform TSP, was raped and tortured in an Israeli prison during her detention after the Sumud Flotilla’s mission, in the framework of practices known as “naked searches”.
