Israeli occupation demolishes homes in Al-Araqib, displaces residents in harsh winter conditions

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 24 (YPA) – Israeli occupation authorities demolished, on Wednesday, homes and tents of residents of Al-Araqib village in the Negev region for the 244th time, displacing dozens of families and leaving them without shelter in harsh winter conditions.

The demolition operation was carried out under heavy protection from Israeli police forces and affiliated units, as part of an ongoing policy aimed at uprooting the village and displacing its residents, under the pretext that it is “not officially recognized.”

According to local data, this is the tenth time since the beginning of 2025 that the occupation authorities have demolished homes in Al-Araqib, following 11 demolitions in 2022 and 2024, 11 in 2023, 15 in 2024, and 14 in 2021, as part of a recurring approach aimed at exhausting the residents and forcibly pushing them to leave their land.

The villagers affirm their attachment to their land, despite the repeated demolitions, considering what is happening a systematic policy of displacement that contradicts the most basic human rights.
