Sanaa reveals secret behind Saudi escalation against UAE-backed factions

SANAA, Dec. 21 (YPA) – Authorities in Sanaa confirmed that the recent shift in Saudi Arabia’s stance regarding the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council” (STC) stems from conflicting interests in Hadramout province, rather than a commitment to Yemeni unity.

Mohamed Al-Fareh, a member of the Ansarallah Political Bureau, clarified that the new Saudi position is directly linked to “Riyadh’s ambitions regarding the wealth of Hadramout, Mahra, and the eastern regions.”

In a post on “X,” Al-Fareh accused both Saudi Arabia and the UAE of working to “fragment Yemen” and racing to divide influence through local proxies, asserting that neither party desires the restoration of Yemeni unity.

Al-Fareh concluded by stating that the ongoing conflicts in these regions are not “internal disputes,” but are instead the result of foreign intervention aimed at weakening the state and preventing the emergence of a unified Yemen with independent decision-making power. He emphasized that this power struggle exacerbates the suffering of the people and tears at the nation’s social fabric.
