Supreme Court’s Constitutional Chamber issues ruling on penal procedures law

SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – The Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court in Sanaa issued a ruling this Saturday regarding a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Article (459) of the Penal Procedures Law No. 13 of 1994.

According to the official Saba News Agency, the Chamber’s session—chaired by Judge Abdulsamad al-Mutawakel, President of the Court and Head of the Chamber—concluded with the rejection of the lawsuit.

The court upheld the constitutionality of the contested article based on the legal reasoning and merits detailed in the judgment.

The ruling follows several sessions dedicated to reviewing the case filed by the plaintiff, Yousef Mohammed al-Hardi.

The final decision was reached after the court reviewed all oral arguments, legal defenses, and petitions submitted by the parties involved.
