Yemen’s religious scholars endorse blockade for blockade policy, call on Saudi Arabia to end its siege

SANAA, Aug. 05 (YPA) – Yemen’s religious scholars expressed on Wednesday full support for Yemen’s leadership decisions to establish the equation of blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation imposed by the Yemeni Sanaa-based armed forces.

This came during the annual conference held in Sanaa under the theme “Yemeni Scholars Confronting Aggression and Siege.”

In the conference’s statement, they described the move as a legitimate measure based on self-defense and support for the oppressed.

The statement called on Saudi Arabia to reconsider its policies, lift the blockade on Yemen, and end the war, saying this would be the only path toward peace, good neighborly relations, and the protection of lives and property.

It warned that any participation in alliances targeting Yemen would be considered aggression that must be confronted through legitimate means.

The statement also called for alliances to focus on supporting the Palestinian people and Al-Aqsa Mosque, urging an end to the presence of U.S. and foreign military bases in the region.

It accused years of war and blockade of causing widespread damage to Yemen’s civilian infrastructure, economy, and services, and called on the Islamic world to confront U.S. and Israeli schemes in the region.

The statement also urged support for military fronts and warned against cooperation with adversaries.
