HADRAMOUT, Nov. 22 (YPA) – A car was targeted in an airstrike in the Al-Abr border region between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, in Hadramout Governorate, eastern Yemen, informed sources reported.
The sources confirmed that a drone targeted an unidentified Toyota Hilux pickup truck, believed to belong to al-Qaeda elements, in the early hours of Saturday in the Al-Abr desert in Hadramout, resulting in its complete destruction, without revealing the perpetrators.
The sources suggested that the attack was a Saudi airstrike aimed at curbing the military expansion of UAE-backed factions towards areas Riyadh considers its strategic sphere of influence in the oil-rich Hadramout Valley.
The airstrike triggered heightened speculation about the perpetrators and targets in Al-Abr, coinciding with military tensions between UAE-backed and Saudi-backed factions in the Hadramout plateau.
