Child injured by remnants of cluster bombs in Taiz

SAADA, Nov. 22 (YPA) – A child was injured on Saturday as a result of the explosion of an explosive device from remnants of cluster bombs left by the coalition in the Al-Waziah area west of Taiz province.

A source familiar said that the 7-year-old child was playing when he found a detonator inside an abandoned bag, which exploded while he was handling.

The source mentioned that the child sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a healthcare center to receive treatment.

Remnants of cluster bombs and unexploded ordnance, dropped by coalition aircraft, have been widespread along Yemen’s western coast over the past years of the war in Yemen.
