QUDS, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Quds (Jerusalem) on Sunday, under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police.
According to Palestinian sources, around 240 Zionist settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound through the Moroccan Gate, carried out provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals, as Israeli forces tightened military measures around the mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem.
Groups affiliated with the so-called “Temple organizations” had called on their supporters to participate widely in the incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and impose new rituals inside the compound, under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish New Year.
The Israeli occupation authorities exploit Jewish holidays to close roads and impose strict restrictions on the movement of Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. This exacerbates their daily hardships and further restricts freedom of worship and movement, while settlers are granted greater freedom of movement and access, leaving Palestinians confined within their cities, villages, and towns.
