Araghchi: Diplomacy must resume after ‘failed’ military attack on Iran
TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted Sunday that the recent military aggression against Iran was an “attack on diplomacy,” declaring that the conflict has proven there is “no alternative but diplomacy.”
Speaking at the “International Law Under Attack” conference, Araghchi emphasized that the US and “Israel” “failed” to achieve any of their objectives, including the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program, adding that facilities may be damaged but technology and will cannot be eliminated by bombs.
Araghchi announced that the “call for negotiations has started again,” reaffirming that Tehran has “never abandoned the negotiating table” and views diplomacy and dialogue as its chosen solution for regional issues.
The Iranian minister claimed Iran emerged from the “12-day war” defensively much stronger than before, having acted in self-defense against American and Israeli attacks.
Araghchi concluded by urging the US and others to understand that resolving issues with Iran is only possible through diplomacy and by adopting a “language of respect and dignity.”
