GAZA, Nov. 13 (YPA) – The Ezz al-Din al-Qassam and Al-Quds Brigades announced that they will hand over the body of an Israeli soldier captured in the Morag area, north of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a brief statement issued Thursday afternoon, the al-Qassam Brigades explained that the handover will take place at 8:00 PM Gaza time, without providing further details about the identity of the captured soldier or the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body.
This development comes days after the al-Qassam Brigades handed over the body of Israeli officer Hadar Goldin, 11 years after his capture during Operation Protective Edge in August 2014. His fate remained a military and political dilemma for the occupation, after its army and intelligence services failed to recover him, whether through military operations or indirect negotiations with the resistance.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, Hamas has handed over the bodies of 23 Israeli prisoners out of 28, in addition to releasing all living prisoners included in the first phase of the agreement.
