Trump bars any US official from attending G20 Summit in South Africa

WASHINGTON, Nov. 08 (YPA) – U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will not send any official to participate in the upcoming Group of Twenty (G20) summit scheduled to be held in South Africa.

Trump officially justified his decision via the “Truth Social” platform by citing the “violation of the rights of the white minority in the country,” stating, “No US government official will attend as long as these human rights violations continue.”

However, observers suggest that the real reason behind the American anger is South Africa’s move to file a case against the Israeli occupation before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over the crimes committed in Gaza.

In his post, Trump asserted that “South Africa is putting pressure on American interests through its international moves against Israel,” concluding that “no US official can attend the summit under these circumstances.”
