SANAA, Nov. 04 (YPA) -Saudi Arabia has begun efforts to ease tensions with Sanaa, according to diplomatic sources cited by local media.
The kingdom has reportedly instructed Yemen Airways to bolster its fleet with a new aircraft, in preparation for resuming flights from Sanaa International Airport, which have been suspended since the airport was struck in August.
Sources expect the new plane to arrive by the end of the year, with commercial flights scheduled to resume at the start of next year.
The move comes amid threats from Sanaa to close Aden International Airport in response to restrictions affecting northern Yemeni travelers.
It also follows a round of negotiations hosted in the Omani capital, Muscat, which included several regional parties, signaling potential new understandings
The reopening of Sanaa Airport is part of the terms of a previous truce reached between Sanaa and Saudi Arabia several years ago, under which attacks on Saudi territory were halted.
