Aden airport sparks widespread anger in Yemen against UAE, its proxies

ADEN, Nov. 02 (YPA) – A massive wave of anger has erupted across Yemeni social circles in recent hours, following activists’ revelations of horrific violations committed by the UAE-backed factions against travelers passing through Aden International Airport.

Thousands of activists launched an unprecedented online campaign under the hashtag #AdenAirportUnsafe, exposing what they described as “crimes of abduction and detention based on identity” carried out by elements belonging to factions supported by Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. The activists asserted that the airport “is no longer a gateway for travel, but rather a trap set for Yemeni passengers.”

The campaign, which dominated social media platforms, revealed a series of violations and arbitrary arrests against citizens detained without justification. Activists accused these factions of transforming the airport into an instrument of oppression serving the coalition’s agendas aimed at dismantling the Yemeni social fabric and igniting internal strife.

Activists believe these practices reflect a “bitter reality” experienced in areas under the control of Emirati and Saudi-backed factions, at a time when public resentment is escalating against what is described as a “masked occupation” that “persists in humiliating Yemenis within their own land.”
