MOSCOW, Oct. 26 (YPA) – Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Sunday that the Russian armed forces would respond forcefully to Kyiv’s attempts to launch attacks deep inside Russia, noting that the Russian president’s words on this matter were quite clear.
Peskov said in a news interview, commenting on statements in Kyiv regarding alleged plans to strike deep inside Russian territory: “President Putin’s words about a crushing response to attempts to launch attacks deep inside Russia are quite clear. The country’s armed forces will deal harshly with Kyiv’s attempts to strike.”
“It is now clear that Ukraine is unlikely to be able to produce missiles on its own. The missiles that Kyiv boasts about could be British, German, Italian, or something else,” he said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously warned that if Russia were attacked with Tomahawk missiles, the response would be decisive, “if not overwhelming.” He added, “This is an attempt at escalation, but if these weapons are used against Russian territory… let them think about it.”
