Coalition recruits stage open sit-in after weapons being looted in Al-Khokha

TAIZ, Oct. 05 (YPA) – Dozens of wounded recruits from the coalition-backed armed factions demanded on Sunday the return of their personal weapons, which were looted by leader Ahmed al-Kawkabani.

During a protest in the city of Al-Khokha, south of Hodeida, the recruits from Tihama area confirmed that the former leader of the so-called “First Tihama Brigade,” Ahmed al-Kawkabani, had taken their weapons without returning them.

They announced an open-ended sit-in and the erection of a tent in the city until their weapons are returned. This protest stemmed from the failure of the leaders of the Tihama factions loyal to the coalition to fulfill their previous promises.

This escalation confirms the depth of the crisis and the lost trust between the recruits from Tihama and their leaders, with the wounded insisting on reclaiming their rights and personal property.
