ADEN, Sept. 08 (YPA) – The United States Ambassador to the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Aden, Steven Fagin, has returned to the political scene after an absence of nearly four months, specifically since US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of support for “Israel” by halting military operations against Sana’a forces in early May.
Fagin’s reappearance comes shortly after the Israeli airstrike that killed Yemen’s Prime Minister in Sana’a, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, and several cabinet members in late August.
The airstrike marked a sharp escalation following months of intensifying maritime pressure by Yemeni naval forces on Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea, in solidarity with Gaza.
Fagin’s meetings in Riyadh with Saudi officials, including virtual talks with the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, and his deputy, UAE-aligned Southern Transitional Council leader Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, confirm the malicious conspiracy being plotted against Yemen by the American-Israeli-British alliance though their tools in the region, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Yemeni political commentators view the ambassador’s absence since May, when former President Donald Trump announced a shift in US policy halting support for Israeli military operations in Yemen, as indicative of Washington’s strategic setbacks. These included the unprecedented Yemeni missile and drone strikes on US naval vessels, and the downing of advanced American drones, which reportedly forced the Pentagon to reassess its military engagement in the region.
Fagin’s recent diplomatic push coincided with a coordinated media campaign by figures within the pro-coalition activists. Officials like Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani have echoed Israeli narratives and praised the airstrikes in Sanaa, leading some observers to suggest a renewed, externally-driven agenda to reignite internal conflict.
Recent meetings involving the US ambassador coincided with a media campaign by Saudi-backed Yemeni officials promoting Israeli narratives. They praised attacks on the Sanaa government and urged more military action against the “Houthis.”
This campaign is seen as part of an Israeli-led effort, supported by the US, to mobilize Saudi and Emirati forces against Yemen, mistakenly believing Sanaa is weak after recent assassinations. However, these plans are closely monitored and expected to fail, as Yemen continues its military pressure against Israeli interests in solidarity with Gaza.

The sudden return of US Ambassador Steven Fagin to the pro-coalition government in Aden is seen by observers as part of a new conspiracy and desperate efforts to create a military and political environment aimed at targeting the Yemeni people.
These actions are seen as a response to Yemen’s recent military successes in establishing a deterrent equation, in support of the people of Gaza, who continue to face daily acts of genocide by the Israeli enemy. However, they assert that the will of the Yemeni people, who have previously withstood foreign aggression, is now even more capable of confronting and dismantling the new conspiracy bolstered by the country’s rapidly advancing military capabilities.
