TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday the arrest of eight individuals on charges of attempting to spy for the Israeli intelligence agency, “Mossad.”
According to a statement from the IRGC, the detainees are suspected of trying to “transfer coordinates of important sites and details about senior military figures.”
The statement added that the suspects received specialized online training from Mossad and were arrested in northeastern Iran before they could carry out their plans.
The statement also mentioned that materials for making launchers, bombs, and explosives were seized with the suspects.
These arrests come amid Iranian accusations that the suspects provided information to Mossad during the aerial conflict between Israel and Iran.
It is worth noting that Iranian state media had previously reported that police arrested up to 21,000 “suspects” during the 12-day conflict.
