MUSCCO, Aug. 29 (YPA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the decision taken by the European Troika, including France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, to reimpose sanctions on Iran on Friday.
In a statement, the ministry called on the international community to take firm actions easures to reject it.
The statement carried by Sputnik: “These fraudulent actions cannot create any obligations for other countries.
“In fact, we are facing an unofficial attempt to manipulate the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 by the European countries participating in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action,” it added.
The statement clarified: “We consider it important to prevent a new escalation around the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear program, which, as evidenced by the foreign aggression against Iran in June of this year, will have serious consequences for international peace and security.”
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the priority task at the present time is to establish a dialogue between the parties involved to find a solution and prevent a new confrontation over the Iranian nuclear program.
