Testimonies from recently released Gaza detainees exposed severe violations in Israeli prisons

GAZA, Aug. 22 (YPA) – The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office revealed on Thursday that testimonies from recently released Gaza detainees exposed severe violations within Israeli prisons.

According to the office, the testimonies document cases of brutal torture, medical abuses, and sexual assaults, including rape.

These systematic abuses have reportedly led to the deaths of dozens of prisoners, the office added.

According to statistics released by the office, the identities of 46 detainees from Gaza killed in Israeli custody have been confirmed, out of a total of 76 prisoners and detainees who have died since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023.

“These are systematic violations that rise to the level of war crimes,” the office stated, calling on international human rights and legal organizations to urgently intervene to stop what it described as a “continuing massacre behind bars.”
