GAZA,July 21 (YPA) -The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) renewed its call, on Monday, to lift the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip to end the famine there.
The agency said, via the X platform: “We are receiving desperate messages about famine from Gaza, including from our colleagues.”
It reported that “Food prices have increased forty-fold,” referring to the repercussions of the ongoing blockade.
“Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Gaza, UNRWA has enough food stored in its warehouses to cover the needs of all its residents for more than three months,” the agency added.
The UN agency continued: “Lift the blockade and allow aid to enter safely and on a large scale. What we need is political will; indifference is complicity and we lose our humanity.”
