10,000 Israelis have moved to Greece since beginning of Gaza War

SANAA, July 06 (YPA) – A study conducted last week reported that about 10,000 Israelis have moved to Greece since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023.

According to the newspaper “Israel Hayom,” the study reported that some of those leaving bought properties in Greece, while most of them live in long-term or short-term rentals such as Airbnb.

In Cyprus, a similar number of Israelis are estimated to reside in Greece, according to the newspaper, citing the study.

The study also stated that most Israelis in Greece live in major cities such as Athens and Thessaloniki, while a smaller number live in the Attica region and Pelion, and even fewer live on the Cyclades and Crete islands.

It indicates that the main reason behind the decision to move to Greece is the fear of a state of war. However, some respondents also indicated their disagreement with the policies pursued by the current Israeli occupation government.
