Israeli occupation forces commit new crime against displaced people in Zaytun neighborhood

GAZA, July 02 (YPA) -Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening committed a new crime against displaced people in the Zaytun neighborhood, southern part of the Gaza Strip.

According to the latest official tally, A recent Israeli bombing of the Zaytun neighborhood has left 17 people dead, including women and children.

The bombing targeted a building that had been sheltering displaced civilians from areas previously destroyed in the northern Gaza Strip.

In the same context, medical sources in Gaza’s hospitals revealed that the death toll since dawn today has risen to 78 martyrs, including 40 in Gaza City alone.

Just under 24 hours before the latest airstrike, rescue teams retrieved the bodies of 18 individuals from the rubble of a home in Zaytun neighborhood, belonging to the “Abu Samra” family.

The operation, carried out amid ongoing bombardment, faced significant challenges due to the relentless airstrikes and the collapse of Gaza’s already fragile infrastructure.

After 16 continuous hours of searching through rubble, Gaza’s Civil Defense teams announced on Wednesday that they had successfully rescued a woman from beneath the debris of the “Abu Samra” family home in the Zaytun neighborhood.

The operation came after a series of intense Israeli airstrikes that targeted a residential block on Kashko Street in southern Gaza City.

Gaza is facing a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, with a collapsing health system, fuel shortages, and widespread infrastructure damage. Meanwhile, international warnings grow as the situation escalates, threatening the lives of civilians trapped in the besieged enclave.
