Netanyahu exposes Trump, confirms his government’s intention to continue aggression on Gaza

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, July 02 (YPA) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed, on Wednesday, that his government is determined to achieve two goals that do not conflict: the complete elimination of Hamas and working to release all prisoners held in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu said in media statements: “The era of Hamastan is over, and Hamas will not remain. This is a settled matter for us.”

He added: “We will eradicate Hamas from its roots and release all our captives. There is no contradiction between the two goals.”

Netanyahu’s statements are in clear contradiction with what US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday, who stated that “Netanyahu wants peace” and is seeking to conclude a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, as part of American efforts to return the prisoners.

This escalation in Netanyahu’s speech comes amid faltering international efforts to reach a truce agreement or exchange deal, in light of the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip and growing fears of the collapse of any chances for a comprehensive political solution.
