TEHRAN, June 22 (YPA) – Iranian judicial authorities announced, on Sunday, the thwarting of espionage and terrorist plots in several provinces, most notably the arrest of three people in Kermanshah Province, one of whom holds European citizenship, on charges of espionage.
A spokesman for the judiciary confirmed that these arrests were made with the help of citizens and coordination between security and judicial agencies, while the accused were referred to the competent authorities to pursue legal action against them.
Meanwhile, Iranian intelligence services revealed the dismantling of a terrorist cell planning to carry out operations in the capital, Tehran, confirming that four of its members were arrested, while the fifth committed suicide upon arrest after being surrounded by security forces.
In turn, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Yazd Province, Brigadier General Hossein Zare Kamali, announced that two centers affiliated with the Ghadir Corps were attacked by enemy aircraft, noting that the situation is currently under control and there are no serious injuries.
In the context of Iran’s security war against spies, the police chief of the city of Rabat Karim announced the arrest of an element linked to the Israeli Mossad, after close monitoring of his activities in the field and online.
Karim stated that the accused was carrying out direct orders from Zionist entities in exchange for sums of money, as he worked to produce and publish anti-Iranian content on Instagram, with the aim of raising anxiety among citizens and undermining social stability at a critical time the country is going through.
The police confirmed that Iranian territory is not a safe place for any agent, and that the security services are capable of monitoring any hostile movement from its first moments.
