SANAA, May 25 (YPA) – Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Barrez, called on the international community on Sunday to impose sanctions on Israel to stop its aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Barrez said in press statements prior to the start of a meeting in Madrid that included European and Arab countries that Madrid is hosting 20 countries and international organizations with the aim of stopping this war on Gaza, which no longer has any purpose.
Regarding humanitarian aid, Barrez indicated that aid must enter Gaza in large quantities, without obstacles, and in a neutral manner so that Israel is not the one deciding who can eat and who cannot.
The Spanish Foreign Minister believed that “recognizing Palestine is a first step to achieving peace.”
In previous statements, Barrez had denounced the repeated Israeli violations of human rights in occupied Palestine, calling on the European Union to suspend the partnership agreement with Israel for violating Article 2, which deals with respect for human rights.
He stressed that Israel has no military objective for its operation in the Gaza Strip, affirming that his country will not allow the sale of weapons to Israel
It is noteworthy that the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaya Kallas, had between the European Union and Israel, in light of the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
