“UNMHA” expresses its dissatisfaction with destruction of Hodeida port by US-Israeli attacks

HODEIDA, May 07 (YPA) – Members of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA) team on Wednesday expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the destruction they saw in the docks, squares, and infrastructure of the port of Hodeida.

During their visit to the port today, accompanied by the Minister of Transport in the Sanaa government, Mohammed Ayash Quhim, the UNMHA team expressed their concern about the seriousness of the situation and the catastrophic repercussions it portends for the humanitarian and service sectors in Yemen.

The minister and the UN team listened to a detailed explanation about the extent of the damage to the port’s infrastructure and the effects of this targeting on future operational and service operations.

Quhim condemned the Israeli attack on the port, holding the United States and the Zionist entity fully responsible for this blatant attack that targeted a civilian facility that provides humanitarian and commercial services to the country.

He urged the UN mission to discharge its responsibilities in accordance with the international mandate granted to it, including condemning this brutal targeting and preparing a documented report on the damage and violations that occurred at the port.

Quhim added that the United Nations’ failure to fulfill its duty regarding this crime constitutes indirect complicity, holding the international community responsible for its consequences.

He pointed out that the effects of this bombing directly impact the food and humanitarian security of millions of Yemenis who rely primarily on the services of this civilian maritime facility.
