Indonesia before International Court of Justice: Israel caused the worst humanitarian disaster in Gaza

SANAA, April 30 (YPA) – Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiyono stressed, in his country’s speech before the International Court of Justice on Wednesday, the need for Israel to cooperate with international bodies and agencies to provide basic services to the Palestinians, accusing it of not adhering to international laws and not cooperating with UN bodies, which contributes to the worst humanitarian disaster of this century.

He stressed that the court’s decision will serve as guidance to the UN General Assembly to preserve the rights of the Palestinian people.

In his speech before the court, Sugiyono stressed that requesting the court’s opinion to review Israel’s obligations under international law is a legal request, and that Israel must abide by international laws.

Sugiyono explained that Israel must agree to the roles of international organizations, including UNRWA, and respect the immunity granted to the agency and its employees in the occupied territories.

Sugiyono called on Israel to take the necessary measures to provide basic services and humanitarian relief and to stop attacks and hostilities against the Palestinians.٥
