Saada local authority denies US propaganda regarding WFP warehouses

SAADA, March 21 (YPA) – The leadership of local authority in Saada province denied the misinformation and propaganda that the US Central Command posted regarding food in World Food Programme (WFP) warehouses in the province.

The province leadership said in a statement that the United Nations was not operating impartially, but rather within a US policy and agenda to besiege the Yemeni people, the latest of which has been the unjustified suspension of humanitarian aid to the province.

The statement pointed out that the United Nations had brought in spoiled and expired food shipments targeting humans and animals.

It said that the United Nations had suspended the WFP food aid distribution in Saada for more than 16 months.

The statement also noted that meetings had been held with WFP officials in Saada and Sanaa, through relevant authorities, to try to find fair and reasonable solutions, but the program continued to stall.

The leadership’s statement condemned also what it described as “the inhumane decision by the UN Secretary-General to suspend UN operations in the province.

It considered the UN step a partnership in the US aggression against the province’s people.
