Iran reveals new drone with jet engine “JAS 313”

TEHRAN, Mar. 06 (YPA) – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a new drone called “JAS 313,” powered by a jet engine.

This drone is part of the “Qaher” drone project, which is considered one of the most prominent achievements of the Iranian Armed Forces’ aviation industry. The project has developed significantly over the years, starting as a fighter dedicated to close air support missions before turning into a smaller drone called “JAS 313,” according to Tasnim News Agency.

During the ceremony of introducing the Shahid Bahman Bagheri drone carrier into service, large and small models of the “JAS 313” were displayed, and test flights of the aircraft were conducted over the carrier.

Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Navy, confirmed that the larger version of the “JAS 313” is equipped with a jet engine that enables it to perform its missions efficiently thanks to its high speed. He also explained that the aircraft is able to fly continuously for an hour, which adds operational value to the “Shahid Bagheri” aircraft carrier.

Admiral Tangsiri pointed out that the tasks performed by the “Jas 313” are divided into reconnaissance and bombing as part of the operations carried out by the IRGC Navy. He added that the aircraft is now ready to take off from airport runways and is currently undergoing air tests on board the aircraft carrier “Shahid Bagheri,” stressing that it is close to entering the full operational phase.
