TAIZ, Mar. 02 (YPA) – The people of Taiz province expressed their dissatisfaction with the contradictory decisions taken by the coalition-backed authorities of the province regarding roads.
A number of activists on social media said that the Taiz authorities did not respond to the initiative that came by the Sanaa government to open the Al-Hawban-Al-Qasr road 24 hours, which increase from the suffering of people as a result of the difficulties and complications imposed on citizens’ travel.
The activists pointed out that the traffic on the Al-Hawban-Al-Qasr road would growth significantly during the holy month of Ramadan, which was supposed to be taken into consideration by the Taiz authorities, in order to alleviate the suffering of citizens forced to move.
Earlier in the day, the coalition-funded Taiz authorities announced that they had backed down from their decision to open the Al-Hawban-Al-Qasr road, due to what they considered “security reasons” that required the road to remain closed at night.
Last week, these authorities had announced that they had responded to an initiative announced by the Sanaa government to open the road 24 hours a day during the holy month of Ramadan for humanitarian reasons.
