Islah expels displaced persons from shelter camp in Marib

MARIB, June 26 (YPA) – The Islah Party authorities, affiliated with the coalition, expelled dozens of poor families over the past two days from the Al-Erq Al-Sharqi Shelter Camp in Al-Wadi district, east of Marib city.

Human rights sources explained that the Islah authorities expelled the poor families and displaced persons who had been present in the Al-Erq Al-Sharqi camp for nearly 10 years, in favor of an investor close to the party’s leaders.

They added that the poor families were forced to move their tents and belongings to other areas, without providing them with any assistance to help them cope with the living conditions.

The sources also pointed out that the authorities rejected the tribal mediations that intervened to prevent the displacement of the poor families, but these efforts were met with disregard and rejection, with no action taken by the so-called “Displaced Persons Affairs Department” affiliated with the Islah Party.
