TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (YPA) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), dismantled Israeli-American spy and espionage networks in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran.
“Thanks to precise intelligence awareness, we were able to dismantle infiltration and espionage networks affiliated with American, Israeli, and some hostile intelligence agencies,” IRGC provincial commander Brigadier General Siavash Moslemi said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency.
According to Moslemi, intelligence services from the US, ‘Israel’, and other hostile nations have been actively attempting to infiltrate Iran by posing as foreign nationals and displaced persons. Many of these foreign agents were operating under the guise of commercial companies, cultural centers, and charities, seeking to collect classified data and establish influence networks within the country.
However, IRGC forces were able to identify and dismantle the espionage cells through meticulous intelligence monitoring, the commander added
He added, “During this period, we have consistently monitored and identified opposition-linked networks, including those affiliated with anti-revolutionary and terrorist groups such as the MEK. Several social media channels and pages aiming to incite public unrest in the province were also shut down, with their administrators facing legal action.”
He reassured that security for all national events, elections, rallies, and religious gatherings had been meticulously planned, ensuring citizens could participate without concern.
