Al-Jaadi demands declaring Aden “disaster city,” accuses Saudi Arabia of waging “collective punishment battle”

RIYADH, June 13 (YPA) – Fadhil Al-Jaadi, a leader in the “dissolved” Southern Transitional Council (STC) currently in Riyadh, has demanded that Aden be declared a “disaster city” in light of the sharp deterioration in electricity, basic services, and living and economic conditions.

In a post on the “X” platform, Al-Jaadi stated that Aden, which hosted “the legitimate government,” does not deserve to be rewarded with the “quadrilogy of crises: darkness, thirst, hunger, and fear.”

He emphasized that restoring public tranquility does not require miracles, but rather “a courageous political decision away from marginal projects.”

Furthermore, Al-Jaadi accused Saudi Arabia of exacerbating the catastrophic situation and disrupting basic services, describing it as a “battle of collective punishment” aimed at “bringing to their knees the popular incubators” of the “dissolved” STC, which oppose the Saudi military and political presence.

These statements coincide with intermittent popular protests in Aden and Hadramout demanding the departure of Saudi forces and the government loyal to them.
