LONDON, Feb. 06 (YPA) – British Minister of State for Development, Anneliese Dodds, confirmed Britain’s opposition to any attempts to transfer Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries against their will.
In her statement to Parliament, Dodds stressed the rejection of forced displacement and the reduction of Gaza’s territory.
Her statements came after US President Donald Trump proposed resettling Palestinians and controlling Gaza for development, including the establishment of an international coexistence resort.
The Independent newspaper indicated that Prime Minister Keir Starmer avoided condemning the proposal when asked about it.
For his part, the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that Starmer plans to discuss the proposals directly with Trump.
When a question was asked about whether Britain was prepared to take a position that contradicted the US President’s proposals regarding America’s possible control of Gaza, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman explained that the British government would continue to work with the Trump administration and his team on a wide range of issues, including the Middle East file.
