Saudi Arabia begins training “Dera Al-Watan” recruits in Mahra

MAHRA, Feb. 05 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has transferred dozens of people from the eastern Yemeni province of Mahra to train in camps in the Al-Abr border area within the so-called “Dera Al-Watan” factions.

Sources reported that the young men were suddenly summoned and transferred to training in the Shehn area, which led to a breakdown in communication between them and their families.

Reports indicate that the recruits were transferred to the factions’ training camp in Al-Abr amid local rejection of the establishment of these factions.

Through the formation of “Dera Al-Watan,” Saudi Arabia seeks to protect an oil pipeline that it plans to pass through Mahra to reach the port of Nashton on the Arabian Sea, despite opposition from local tribes since 2017.
