ADEN, Feb. 05 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) warned on Wednesday of a catastrophic situation being faced by the city of Aden.
The STC ,a partner in the coalition-backed Aden government, affirmed that deterioration came in light of the complete failure by the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council and its government to carry out their responsibilities towards citizens.
It explained that Aden has become deprived of the most basic services as a result of the Aden government’s inability to carry out and assume responsibilities towards citizens.
The STC called on the coalition countries, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to intervene urgently to stop the worsening and catastrophic deterioration of the service, living and economic situation, and to save Aden and the rest of the southern provinces from the humanitarian disaster.
It pointed out that the Aden government was unable to provide sufficient shipments of diesel and fuel oil to operate power plants.
The STC accused the Saudi Arabia and the UAE of passing political goals and agendas targeting citizens and exploiting their living and service conditions.
It indicated that Aden hospitals being threatened with shutdown and water supply interruption due to the lack of fuel for power stations, which has not happened for nearly 100 years.
For his part, politician Hani Al-Beidh confirmed that the statement publicly showed the Transitional Council’s inability to do anything for the citizens in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces.
He stated that the STC’s evasion of responsibility and its contentment with placing blame on others would not bring about any change in improving services and living conditions.
